On Sunday, January 3rd, 2021, over 1,000 people, individuals with disabilities, along with caregivers, therapists and medical staff, received the long-awaited COVID-19 vaccinations at the Shalva National Center in Jerusalem, and the reactions and feedback from recipients were overwhelmingly positive.
The critical drive was run in conjunction with the Ministries of Health and Welfare and of course with Magen David Adom teams on the ground who conducted themselves with sensitivity and efficiency while strictly adhering to all regulations.
The Shalva National Center is fully accessible with the necessary facilities and staff for the drive as well as the added experience necessary to ensure our most vulnerable citizens are kept safe from COVID-19. Shalva, together with the Ministries of Health and Welfare, is at the forefront, fighting to keep everyone safe and ensure vital programming and therapies remain open.
This important operation brings with it a strong feeling of optimism and light at the end of the dark Corona tunnel.
